Over 500 Durham trainee artists and vocalists will release a loaded season of Christmas shows. From Saturday 1st up until completion of term on Friday 14 th December, there will be at least one efficiency by a Music Durham ensemble on every day! It assures to be a season filled with range, with music for every single taste occurring at places throughout the city.

A musical start to the joyful season.

Saturday 1st December– Durham Universty Palatinate Orchestra (DUPO) DUPO Symphony are delighted to present Brahms’ gorgeous 2nd symphony along with Dvorak’s Slavonic Dance No. 8– along with a couple of carols naturally! This occasion will be kept in Elvet Methodist Church from 7.30 pm.

Sunday second December– Flute Choir Charity Christmas Show. Filled with joyful deals with to get you into the Christmas spirit, this performance is likewise in assistance of the Water Underground task charity. This performance will remain in Kingsgate Space at the Durham Trainees’ Union, from 2.30 pm– 4.30 pm.

This weekend is likewise when Durham’s yearly Standard Christmas Celebration occurs. With a Christmas market in a huge marquee on Palace Green and kids’s lantern parade to Durham Cathedral, the weekend is an emphasize in the city’s Christmas calendar. Sunday 9th December– And if custom isn’t for you, sign up with A Cappella group Foot Notes, for ‘ I’m imagining an A CAPPELLA Christmas’ will be a night filled with popular tunes in Durham Castle Great Hall.

Monday 10 th December– The Christmas Show. Durham University Orchestral Society, Chamber Choir and Northern Lights collaborate in real Christmas spirit to provide a night of conventional carols and joyful favourites in Elvet Methodist Church (and anticipate the reappearance of Sleigh Flight!). ₤ 1 from every ticket will go to charity.

Tuesday 11 th December– Sign up with Durham’s biggest blended A Cappella Choir, Durham Characteristics the for their Christmas Show including chart toppers, classics and joyful tunes.

Wednesday 12 th December– For conventional brass this Christmas, sign up with Durham University Show Band and Durham University Brass Band for ‘One Of The Most Terrific Time of the Year’. With assortments of seasonal tunes, sign up with 2 showstopping bands at their yearly December performance.

Thursday 13 th December– DUPO Chamber Orchestra present ‘Hats, Tangos and Shakespeare’, a diverse and interesting variety of music from all over the world. Hear Honnegger with Piazzolla at St Margaret’s Church.

Friday 14 th December– Sign Up With the Choral Society for ‘On Christmas Night’. A performance to settle the scholastic year with seasonal work of arts like Britten’s Event of Carols and St Nicholas, In Dulci Jubilo and Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols
