African Crossroads, a four-day event offered by Hivos, will gather 150 people from November 20 to 23 in Mombasa, Kenya, to connect, interact, and take a look at the range of African cities in all its multi-sensory aspects. How do the African cities nowadays and tomorrow sound, taste, feel or move, and how do these cities discover us in return? On November 23, they will show their findings.

African Crossroads is an area of future-oriented African thinkers and doers which satisfies each year to exchange and seriously evaluate the most innovative entrepreneurial, scientific, innovative, and technological improvements anchored in African intellectual and technological custom-mades. Through design shows, promoting workshops, art setups, and more, this three-day event will activate deep discussions about the most current productions and advancements in science, art, and development.
Organized by Hivos, African Crossroads puts together a yearly, cross-continental and multidisciplinary occasion for African artists, company owner, computer system scientists, designers, researchers, and thinkers to exchange understanding and to positively form the future of African societies.

TRACK # 1– TASTE: This track will focus on the most current improvements, organisation, and advancements in cosmopolitan food to expose the taste of the African cities. What is street food and sustainable food in the 21 st century?
TRACK # 2– SOUND: This track will focus on the voices of the African cities, the narrative history, authors, music markets etc. on the continent. What are the sounds of the African cities?
TRACK # 3– FEEL: This track will focus on the cosmopolitan product of the city. How do we feel the city? What is the skin of the city? We will take a look at design and other techniques the city touches us.
TRACK # 4– MOVING: This track will focus on the movements and energy of the African cities, and will activate discussions on energy streams, cosmopolitan transportations and logistics. How does the city move us?
African thinkers and doers who are forming the African continent in various markets such as service, arts, sciences.

Have an interest in taking a look at innovative patterns in art, development, design, and entrepreneurship coming out of the continent.
Please remember that the main language of the event will be English. They can accommodate those who feel more comfortable supplying in French through translation.
