A brace from Okoro Emmanuel was all Obukohwo Primary school Ughelli North needed on Wednesday to lift the maiden Headmasters Cup football competition.
In the final match decided at the Agbor Township Stadium, Obukohwo defeated Pessu Primary school, Warriors, 2-1 to emerge champions in the developmental talent hunt competition witnessed by governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State. Atijoro Oruaro scored the only goal for the hard fighting Pessu pupils. For their efforts, the winners won a cash prize of N750,000 while the runners up won N500,000.
The individual award winners also won cash prizes and other gift items. The Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary School Education, Chiedu Ebie, was elated about the standard exhibited in the final and the competition in general.
