The IFFR Young Film Critics Trainee Program 2019 is now open for applications. IFFR recognizes the vital significance of film analysis and criticism and presented the Young Motion picture Critics Trainee Program to support a new generation of young and approaching film critics.
A group of young and figured out specialist film critics from outside the Netherlands are invited to come to Rotterdam to cover the event. About the Program.
As a trainee, you come from the editorial group of the event. You will have conferences with well-informed film critics from different backgrounds, cover the event for your own journalistic association and enter into the FIPRESCI jury. Undoubtedly you will also get to experience the total satisfaction of being at International Film Event Rotterdam. With the changing media landscape in mind, this year’s program will put special focus on potential customers with mixed abilities– next to impressive composing capabilities, experience in (or exceptional ideas for) audiovisual, audio or other innovative modes of journalism are valued.
IFFR supports film making, film making and journalistic ability on various levels: the main event location Dazzling Future (including rivals for both functions and shorts) offers present works by extremely first and second time filmmakers; the Hubert Bals Fund contributes to film tasks in developing countries and co-production market CineMart sets up a trainee task for young film producers (Rotterdam Lab) in close cooperation with its partner organisations. Acknowledging the vital function of film criticism to the understanding of independent cinema, IFFR sets up a trainee task for young film critics.

A total schedule. IFFR concentrates on making trainees absolutely necessary to the event and lets them participate in the delivery of daily event outlets. You are under 30 years of age.
Fluent command of the English language (made up and spoken).
Proven experience in film criticism (print, video, audio or online media) + storyboard or any creative sort of daily reporting.
