A 31- year-old mechanic, Omoniyi Omotayo, on Thursday appeared prior to a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for supposedly taking a cellular phone valued N70,000 from a medical facility.
Omotayo, who lives at Ijora location of Lagos, is dealing with a charge of taking, to which he pleaded innocent.
The District Attorney, Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye informed the court that the accused dedicated the offense with another individual still at big on Feb. 29 at 7.15 p.m. at National Orthopedic Medical Facility, Igbobi, Lagos.
Olaluwoye stated the accused took an LG 4 phone coming from the plaintiff, Miss Oluwakemi Busari, from the table she kept it while she was hectic with a client.
She stated that there was a power cut for a number of minutes when the accused got the phone on the table and ran outside.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluwatoyin Oghre, approved the accused bail in the amount of N100,000 with 2 sureties each in like amount.
Oghre purchased that the sureties should live within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully utilized.
She included that the sureties ought to reveal proof of 3 years tax payment to Lagos State Federal Government.
Oghre adjourned the case till May 12 for reference.
