New MicroMasters® Programs Offer In-Depth Knowledge in Today’s Hottest Industries

We are excited to announce new MicroMasters® programs from the world’s top universities, offering learners deep knowledge across in-demand fields such as manufacturing, the Internet of Things, sustainable energy and corporate innovation. Building on the success and popularity of the MicroMasters initiative launch in September 2016, edX now offers employer recognized credentials in 46 subjects from 25 international universities from around the world – with many more to come!

MicroMasters programs help to bridge the knowledge gap between higher education and the workplace by offering deep knowledge and credentials in the most in-demand fields, with a pathway to credit in an on-campus program. Top employers, including Cisco, Ernst & Young, and Autodesk endorse MicroMasters programs for real-world relevancy in today’s rapidly-evolving, tech-driven workforce.

What is a MicroMasters Program?

MicroMasters programs are a series of graduate level courses from top universities designed to advance your career. They provide deep learning in a specific career field and are recognized by employers for their real job relevance. Students may apply to the university offering credit for the MicroMasters certificate and, if accepted, can pursue an accelerated and less expensive Master’s Degree.
