The Senate, Thursday, swore in Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Peoples Democratic Celebration, PDP, Ekiti South who was stated the winner in the February 23 National Assembly elections.
The swearing-in of Olujimi was follow up to the judgment of Court of Appeal.
Remember that recently, the Court of Appeal in Kaduna nullified the election of Spokesperson of the Senate, Senator Dayo Adeyeye and purchased the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to provide a certificate of go back to his opposition, Senator Biodun Olujimi.
The oath of workplace and loyalty were administered Thursday on Senator Olujimi by the Clerk of the Senate, Nelson Ayewor throughout plenary.
In his remarks, President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan who praised her, stated that with her returning to the Senate, the Upper Chamber now has 8 really strong female Senators, even as he hoped that with this, extra efficiency would be given the 9th Senate.
Lawan advised Senators to stay concentrated and do those things that will make the nation terrific.
With the swearing-in of Olujimi, the variety of All Progressives Congress, APC, Senators now stand at 63 while PDP now has 45 Senators.
Other Female Senators in today Senate are Oluremi Tinubu, APC, Lagos Central; Stella Oduah, PDP, Anambra North; Uche Ekwunife, PDP, Anambra Central; Rose Oko, PDP, Cross River North; Betty Apiafi, PDP, Rivers; Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, APC, Adamawa Central; and Akon Eyakenyi, PDP, Akwa Ibom East.
Remember that Senator Biodun Olujimi a previous Deputy Guv of Ekiti State represented Ekiti South Senatorial District in the 8th Senate.
Belonging to PDP Caucus at the start of the 8th Senate, she was the deputy Minority Whip and later on ended up being the Senate Minority Leader.
She was the only woman amongst the primary officers of the instant previous Senate.
Prior to her pertaining to the Senate, she was an Unique Assistant to then guv Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti and later on chosen as a member, Federal Legislature.
