The celebration turns down the wrongful administrative restriction of open projects by INEC, holding that such administrative declaration was incorrect, straight in dispute with the arrangement of the Electoral Act and is not backed by any other law in our nation.

Our position is asserted on the clear arrangement of area 99 (1) of the Electoral Act which specified that “for the functions of this Act, the duration of marketing in public by every political celebration will begin 90 days prior to ballot day and end 24 hours prior to that day”.

The clear import of this arrangement, in the existing scenario, is that provided the post ponement of the election to February 23, 2019, the 24 hours requirement for closure of all public marketing falls at midnight of February21

The PDP advises INEC that whenever its administrative declaration disputes with the Electoral Act, such administrative declaration should bow prior to the law. The celebration charges INEC to be properly directed while directing its members to wait for additional instructions ahead of its resuming of projects.
